AIWC was founded by Mrs Margaret Cousins, who made India her home, wrote letters to the Indian Women to get together and organise a conference wherever they are.

Mrs Sarojini Naidu, a freedom fighter, a poetess was the founder vice president of AIWC.
Mrs Kamla Devi Chattopadhya, the Founder secretary and treasurer of AIWC.

All India Women’s conference came into existence with the aim and objectives …

1). To work for a society based on the principles of Social Justice integrity and equal rights and opportunities for all.
2). To secure recognition of the inherent rights of every human being, to work and to achieve essentials of life such as food clothing housing education social amenities and security in the belief that those should not be determined by accident of birth or sex but by planned social distribution.
3). To support the claim of every citizen to the right to enjoy basic rights and liberties.
4). To stand against all separatist tendencies and to promise greater national integration and Unity
to work actively for the general progress and welfare of women and children and to help women to utilise to the fullest the fundamental rights conferred on them by the constitution of India.
5). To cooperate with people and organisations of the world for the implementation of these principles which alone can assure permanent International Amity and world peace,
to strive to achieve these objectives as a charitable society.
